'December' is the new project from respected french Techno producer Tomas More. After a steady slew of well received productions, including a split 12” with Roman Flugel 'December' becomes the realm in which Tomas is able to expose and indulge his love of harsher, less dancefloor focused textures, pluming his signature gritty techno ambience into the depths of no wave and mutated motorik. The sounds given on this debut release have always been there within his dancefloor productions but when that familiar and comforting pulse is removed these productions become something totally new and other.

This self titled debut for Where To Now? veers seamlessly from the intricately brooding and foreboding soundscape work of 'Walleyed' into a series of distorted jacking techno cuts, each managing to perk similar reference points within the listener but whilst always bringing a fresh approach to sequencing – the focus and excitement within these pieces is not what holds the tracks together, but rather the underbelly of sounds which threatens to disturb and derail at any given moment. We end with the gloriously slow death march of 'bones', a track which strips everything back and exposes what Tomas is capable of when given the space to experiment wildly.

If you've recently been enjoying productions from L.I.E.S & Diagonal records, and in particular the work of Powell, then this is definitely one for you.
